Forest School at Brynllywarch!

Brynllywarch Hall School Forest School Scheme was created back in 2017 but has been further developed for 2021. The scheme was developed with the idea of helping the children gain a sense of achievement in a woodland area.

The Forest School Scheme will make the most of a beautiful woodland area.

The Aim of the Forest School Scheme at Brynllywarch Hall School is for children to develop a lifelong understanding of the natural environment, whilst embodying the Forest School learning process. This offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions as it is a long-term program that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.

The scheme has the following objectives:

  • Forest School Sessions to be delivered weekly all year round.
  • Sessions will be delivered to all age groups
  • Sustainable management of the Woodland and Outdoor area.
  • Appropriate risk (physical and emotional) will be allowed for all participants, with Risk Benefit assessments underpinning this approach.

Brynllywarch Hall School will deliver the Forest School Scheme in the woodland that is in the school grounds. The site has been managed by the staff and students of Brynllywarch Hall School. The woodland area will allow the learns to experience the Forest School Scheme in an outdoor setting.
